Mental Conditioning Virtual Workshops

 

These seminars are designed to provide the participants with foundational information in each of these mental skills areas. In each of the courses, you will be introduced to basic skills, some basic scientific fundamentals supported by research and how these contribute to athlete performance and some basic approaches to start working on these skills at the personal level. All courses are designed to be introductory and will make you think about what areas you need to work on to improve your mental approach. Personalized approaches require assessment and individual modification. After an introduction to these skills, you can seek out further consultation or information in any of these areas of mental toughness. 

Workshop # 1 – Mental Conditioning 101 – Maintaining Control of Our Thinking
Date: September 18th, 2017 7:30pm 

When all the physical skills are similar, what makes the difference between athletes who make it and those who don’t? This session introduces quality thinking, the five mental skills, and strategies to include mental preparation to our daily training schedules.

 
Session Investment $25– after registration, participants will receive information on how to connect to the virtual room. After completion, all students will receive a certificate of participation. 

Workshop # 2 – Mindfulness and How it Contributes to Your Game
Date: September 25th, 2017– 7:30pm

An athlete’s capacity to stay in the moment is critical for success. Staying in the moment is an internal battle against the very nature of our mind. In this workshop, we will discuss mindfulness practices and how to apply these strategies to our game.

Workshop # 3 – Strategies for Emotional Management
Date: November 1st, 2017– 7:30pm

As humans, emotions are part of our daily battles. Therefore, our only option is to understand ourselves, what causes our emotional states and having strategies to better interpret our emotions in training and in a competition. In this seminar, you will get some of these strategies.
